The Hip2trek Shop and Kids’ t-shirt product test

You may remember that I recently asked for a product tester for the new ‘Pawsome Adventures’ kids t-shirt. Katie, from Lancashire, rose to the challenge and was our tester, along with her Daughter. We talked to Katie about her opinions of the t-shirt, but first a bit more about the Hip2trek shop.

I’ve written about our Hip2trek shop before and the reasons I chose to use Teemill to print them. If you didn’t read the blog before, Teemill print the t-shirts in a renewable energy factory. The orders are fulfilled by Teemill. All the t-shirts and hoodies are made from organic cotton and printed on demand which means there is no waste. The t-shirts are only printed when you guys decide to buy one and are sent to you in plastic free packaging. The print used is also began friendly. I’m trying to be more environmentally friendly in what I buy, so this was attractive to me in using this company. An environmentally responsible company are important to me, especially as I love the outdoors. You can learn all about the journey of the cotton from seed to store here. What is also great about the t-shirts is that once you’ve worn them out, you can send them back to Teemill, who will then recycle them. Recycled cotton t-shirts are then available to buy across their stores and I’m hoping to add these to mine too. I’ve updated some of the designs and added hoodies too. Ladies t-shirts are from a size 8–18 and Men’s up to an XXL. I love the women’s fit t-shirts but have bought some in the men’s size too and both are lovely. I’ve let the kids design a few t-shirts and this is how ‘Pawsome Adventures’ came about! There is also a new option in the store that means you can design your own.

Anyway, enough gabble, what did Katie think of the t-shirt?

Is sustainability and where the T-shirt comes from important to you?

I would be more likely to buy from small businesses and have especially made an effort to support small and local recently. I haven’t considered sustainability much when buying the children’s clothes previously.

Are there any designs you would like to see in the Hip2trek Shop?

My daughter loves the paw some design and I’m certain that my son would love the master of the stick. I have a penchant for colour so would love to see a super colourful design maybe. We loved rainbows even before they became such a big symbol.

Do you get outside regularly with your family?

We get outside as much as possible. I’m a teacher and both children do all sorts of clubs. We have never walked as much as we have during lockdown but have always tried to fit in one lovely family walk each week. We absolutely love camping and over summer are most happy with the tent all alone in the field at a local farm!

Where will you wear the T-shirt first after lockdown has ended?

After the lockdown has ended one of Sophie’s first requests is Brimham rocks – they love clambering around and exploring the rocks up there. She is also desperate for her next zoo visit as her dream is to be a zookeeper!

Do you have any other comments?

I have to mention the packaging – it’s beautiful in its own right. As a larger lady I would also love your adult range to stretch into the slightly bigger sizes when possible so we can all have a similar design.

Thanks to Katie for her honest opinions. I hope your Daughter enjoys her t-shirt and that you can take it to Brimham rocks soon. We love the packaging too, it always makes me smile when I see it come through the letterbox. Have you bought one of our t-shirts? Pop us a picture over so we can see it in action. Look out for Freepost offers in the store too!
