A place to share with you what I’m currently loving this Summer, either things I’ve bought, come across or been given that I think deserve a shout out.
Vionic shoes – at the recent Blog on conference I won a pair of Vionic shoes. With my hip problems and rehab journey with physio, I also discovered that I’m slightly flat-footed and began having ankle problems too. Vionic shoes have in-built podiatrist technology and arch support to offer all day comfort. I’ve been putting my Midi Perf slip on sneakers to the test, and I have to say that I do find them really comfortable. They even managed a few miles across fields and a public footpath a few weeks ago. I love this style because they are a bit smarter than a regular trainer or sneaker. I just wish I had the budget to buy more of them. So far, happy feet!
Hip2trek t-shirt shop – not just a bit of self-promotion honestly! We decided to get some Hip2trek t-shirts but couldn’t find the designs we wanted. I found Teemill and was impressed that the t-shirts are 100% organic cotton and their approach to environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. The t-shirts come in environmentally friendly packaging too.
I set the kids a challenge to design their own, with the promise to get them printed. We had great fun one afternoon designing our t-shirts, I even photographed some sticks for one design. The kids got really involved and are hoping if any of theirs sell they will get the profits! Once the t-shirts arrived we had great fun with our own photo shoot. There’s some hilarious out-take shots that I might post one day.
Kleen Kanteen straws – We love the straws we were given at the Outdoor Bloggers weekend. I’ve got the kids trained to refuse plastic straws where we can whilst we’re out. We do get some funny looks sometimes, but I’m pleased to see some restaurants are now not providing straws – let’s hope more follow. The kids had me making them smoothies and of course they had to have special straws. These straws fit the Kleen Kanteen tumblers and pint cups (I’ll have to invest in some), they’re also easy clean and dishwasher safe.
